SlipSlate Website Terms of Use

Last updated: October 9, 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

This website (slipslate.com) is operated by Alan Tanaman, an individual, under the name SlipSlate ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the website. They do not govern use of the SlipSlate software, which is covered by a separate customer agreement signed with each customer. If you use the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

We intend to transfer the website and service to a company when we incorporate. We may assign these terms to that company or to any successor without your consent. We will update this page when that happens.

2. Business use only

The site is intended for businesses and individuals acting in a professional capacity, particularly marina operators and their staff. It is not intended for consumers. By using it, you confirm that you are 18 or older and use it for business purposes.

3. Information on this site is general

The site describes our product and plans. Features, pricing, timelines and capabilities may change, and some may not yet be available. Nothing on the site is an offer that you can accept to form a contract. A contract exists only when we both sign an order form or customer agreement.

Our software, including any slip map, fit rule, compatibility check or utility calculation, is an operational tool based on data that marinas enter. It is not a survey, engineering plan, navigation aid or safety certification. Marinas are responsible for their own decisions, including whether a vessel is safe for a slip.

Two optional features use third-party services. If a marina turns on payments, they run on the marina's own Stripe account under Stripe's terms, and Stripe's fees apply and are shown on each payment. We never store card or bank numbers. Dock Walk runs in your own chat app under that app's terms: an assistant in your own chat app enters records only after staff confirm, and a transcript snippet is kept in the audit history. See also the payment terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site unlawfully or to infringe others' rights,
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, our systems or other users' data,
  • introduce malware or interfere with the site's operation,
  • scrape or harvest content or data by automated means beyond ordinary search-engine indexing,
  • reverse engineer, copy or reproduce the site's code, design or content to build a competing service,
  • use the site to send us spam or false submissions, or
  • misrepresent who you are.

We may block access or take other steps if you break these rules.

5. Intellectual property

We own, or have licenses to, the site's content, design, code, text, graphics, logos and names, including SlipSlate. We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to view the site and its content for your internal business evaluation of our product. Anything else needs our written permission.

6. What you send us

If you send us feedback, suggestions or ideas, you give us a free, worldwide, perpetual right to use them without obligation to you. Please do not send us confidential, sensitive or personal information that we haven't asked for, and do not upload customer data to the website. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal data. Our Cookie Notice explains cookies.

7. Third-party links and tools

The site may link to or embed third-party websites and tools, such as scheduling and analytics tools. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is subject to their terms.

8. Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we give no warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the site, and
  • our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to USD 100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

10. Suspension and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue the site or any part of it at any time. We may restrict your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, including 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11, continue after termination.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of the Central District of Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about the website, subject to any mandatory rights you have under the law where you live.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The updated version applies when posted, and the date above changes. If you continue to use the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.

13. General

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. These terms and the Privacy and Cookie Notices are the entire agreement between us about the website.
